Does anyone out there have anything to say about the campaign against drive-thrus?
For those of you who don't know, the campaigners are seeking a moratorium on new drive-thrus, and not a complete ban.

Here's a web site from the campaigners -

(In particular, I'm going to refer you to this post about what you can do to help.)
The pro- drive-thru lobbyists have a web site here -

(They even claim that drive-thrus aren't an environmental problem!)
Similar pamphlets also are on Tim Horton's counter-tops.

Cory's presentation
Here's the PowerPoint presentation that Cory Morningstar -- the head of the local chapter of the Council of Canadians -- prepared for the Tuesday, July 15th "Public Participation" forum on drive-thrus:

Note of thanks
Here's a message from the Council of Canadians -
Just a quick note of thanks to all those who came out to the
Public Participation Meeting on Tuesday for their ongoing support. We
don't always hear from many of you inbetween events and particularly
in the summer, and when more of you good folks show up in support of a
cause than we anticipate it creates a bit of a warm feeling of
community that can not always be felt working in an organization such
as we do.
We hope that we at Council of Canadians - London Chapter are seen
to support as many other community building initiatives as we can
given the scarcity of time and the abundance of worthwhile causes to
pursue. Our desire and vision is to never loose focus of the value of
aligning with each other in the activist community in spite of some
differences in opinions or agendas at times, on the important issues
in the community and abroad.
The meeting, as you could see, had it's shortcomings. But in the
end, we are convinced we are in a better place to move forward with
the items that were left on the table at the adjournment of the
meeting, in spite of our considerable disappointment with respect to
the process.
Thanks Again, for your ongoing support.
Council of Canadians
London Chapter

About the blog post I've
About the blog post I've linked to above -
I think that the author’s responses to my comments show that they are intent on misrepresenting the event. For instance, this person dismisses the idea that the blue shirted people were “causing a scene”–despite how their propaganda shirts were an obvious “scene,” and despite how they would respond to happenings en masse–usually by clapping.
