Canyon Bounty Road Trip - Any interest?
It was great to meet new folks and see good friends at the Idaho Earth Institute fundraiser on Saturday!
We were happy to pick up a few plants, but the snowflakes and cool wind certainly helped reign in our urge to plant too early.
(Reminder: Average last frost date is May 8th. Safe plant date is 26th May.)
So any interest in organizing carpooling to Canyon Bounty in the next few weeks?
I'm interested in the following dates:
Fri 25th April (afternoon)
Sat 26 April (any time)
Fri 2 May (afternoon)
Sat 3 May (any time)
I'm also open to afternoons during the week in case your schedule allows that.
We have room for a couple more people in our vehicle, and would have plenty of room for lots of plants (big trunk and can load up the Yak box).
Less lawn ~ More food.

Friday afternoon is out

I'll Be Going Later
In case anyone else is interested in a later date, I'm going to wait at least another week. I'll post back a few days before I go, and can pick up stuff for folks.
Also, Spyglass Gardens in Meridian opens this weekend! I know they'll have asparagus and spinach, plus probably a few more greens, as well as eggs and the usual dry goods stuff. I can't wait!

Great! Sounds like we have one full vehicle. Let's aim for leaving at 1.
Any else interested? We could caravan or plan to meet up over at Beth's. I hope we'll have an opportunity to chat with her about her experience growing wheat this last year, and her knowledge of organic farming in this area. She's also involved with Rural Roots and can probably give us some more ideas of what can be done to help our local farmers grow healthy food for local people.
In case you can't make it Friday but there's something you'd like let us spare you a trip and pick it up for you on Friday. Check out canyonbountyfarm.com for Beth's offerings this season.

Canyon Bounty trip
I was planning on going out this Friday afternoon (4/25) to buy some flour so I can bake bread for Sunday's pot-luck. I was also hoping to pickup up some tomato starts. Am planning on leaving right after I get off work - probably around noon or 1 o'clock. I can either drive or ride.
