To celebrate Bike Week 2008, an initiative of Queensland Transport, the Bundaberg Bicyle Users Group (B.U.G.) (aka the "Mad Cycologists") are again running The City to Coast Bicycle Fun Ride. The BUG's primary objective being to get more people on bicycles by encouraging safe cycling as part of a healthy lifestyle.

The ride starts at 9.00am from the Riverside Parklands, Quay Street and finishing at South Head Parkland, Burnett Heads. The ride is great fun and value and each rider gets refreshments along the way, route marshalls, Bike Mechanic support, Post-Ride entertainment, free sunscreen and plenty of prizes for individuals and Teams. This year we will be running two options for the ride: one longer ride for the more experienced rider and one for beginners and family groups. They will all start and finish from the same spot but the longer ride will take riders up and over the Hummock.

Last year we had nearly 400 riders and look forward to even greater numbers this year.
