Sequim PC Users Group meeting on Saturday, March 8th at 10:00AM
Subject: Collaborative Learning and Education
On Saturday, March 8 , 2008 at 10:00 AM, Al Bergstein returns by popular demand to speak to our group about Collaborative Learning and Education. If you missed Al's presentation last year, you will be in for a treat, as he was one of our favorite speakers. Al spent 11 years at Microsoft and now lives on the Olympic Peninsula. Collaborative Learning is one of Al's passions, and he believes that "...everything from gaming to doing business at the world's largest companies is about collaboration, and with the emphasis on carbon neutral showing up in a huge number of ways (cost of gas, environmental impact on travel, etc), it is going to be huge in the coming decades. What are the hidden possibilities that a school district, government, and the citizens of the Peninsula might be able to find by focusing on how they may better enable wide area collaboration. The web here is only a baby step. The future holds a much more interesting story. How do we get from here to there? What will it cost? What are the possible reasons to do it? How do "we" sell it to the population? What technology needs to happen to really enable it? "
Collaborative Learning and Education will be held at 10:00 AM at the Computer Lab, Room #E3, Sequim High School, 601 N. Sequim Ave. Sequim, WA. The Builder's Expo is being held at the high school on March 8th, so be aware that parking may not be available in the high school parking lot. We are working on an alternate solution and may send you further information when this becomes available.
