Please join us for our second lecture in our eleven month series, "Creating Sustainable Communities". This months topic, "Local Economies for Stronger Community" will cover, how Peak Oil and Global Climate Change will effect our economy, the history of money, what communities around the world are doing to strenghthen their economy and what we can do local level to become more sustainable. Speakers will include Deborah Lindsay, co-founder of SMC and Mark Folsom, Peak oil Educator.
These meetings are free and open to the public from 6:45 to 8:30 PM.

Future Frameworks for Regional Railways Symposium

The aim of the 'Future Frameworks' symposium is to explore the capabilities and frameworks for sustainable regional rail.

These frameworks recognise the benefits of an integrated and balanced approach between road and rail within regional logistics chains.

This conference will be of interest to all who are concerned about the development of sustainable, integrated regional transport systems.

The aim of the Symposium is to explore elements of a regional rail framework,
including:

• Emerging practices in small-medium enterprise (SME) rail

• Developing models of regional governance

• Programs that facilitate partnerships between government, communities and SMEs’

• Capability building

• Alliances in logistics

• Measures to balance road/rail transport and promote chain efficiency
