Chevallum Permaculture MeetingSubmitted Mon, 2008-04-21 23:56 — Sonya Yukari Desjardins will present our next Information Evening on 30th April at 7pm - Chevallum School State in the Library. Yukari is a master of fermented foods and will share with us the many health benefits of including some fermented food with our meals. We are all familiar with the nourishing qualities of fermented foods but many find the transition to include this food difficult. Yukari will demonstrate the process and offer samples of her exquisite ferments. Yukari's teaching is nourishment in itself. Please join us for what will be a delightful evening. Gold coin donation welcome as are your friends. Yukari's food is well known on the Coast - she is at Woodford and many environmentally friendly events. Event title: Start: End: Key 1

Planning MeetingSubmitted Mon, 2008-04-28 17:06 — aangel Post Carbon Marin Planning Meeting Who: Post Carbon Marin Direct questions to: Jonathan Frieman -- yogi@well.com Why was Post Carbon Marin formed? Worldwide oil production is very close to beginning its inexorable decline. It will impact almost every part of our lives, from food production to how we earn and spend money. What happened at the first meeting? Residents from all over Marin came to learn the very latest about oil and natural gas. We also started to discuss how we might prepare while creating a thriving community. What will we do at this meeting? We'll discuss how to organize ourselves; we'll launch some initiatives and provide updates on others already in process (we've begun to collect infrastructure information for the county: how old are the water/sewer pipes, etc.). Where is Post Carbon Marin on the Net? You'll find us at http://postcarbonmarin.relocalize.net I still don't see what the big deal is...what's peak oil? See the peak oil primer here: www.inspiringgreenleadership.com/blog/aangel/peak-oil-primer Event title: Start: End: Key 1
