In the last month, the tech team at Post Carbon has been working on improving the group homepages for the Relocalization Groups.
We want to make the group home pages configurable, so each group can have control over the look and layout of the page.
We have made a new template, which features group content in a more natural layout. We will be offering a couple different layouts, and groups can upload their own logo and photos into the template to personalize their page.
Group members have been asking for their own menu, so we developed a new menus module that will let group coordinators set menu items. This means the group home can have sections, nested content and links to external sites that relate to the group.
Improved group directory services are also on the list of improvements we are working on. The directory will allow members to create a list of local services, and be able to browse the directory on a map of their locale. Group members will also be able to search the directory by proximity (find the nearest bike repair shop) to discover services in their area.

Here are screen shots of the work in progress:
Group Homepage New Layout
Group Home Page Layout Top: Here is a screen shot of the new group home page. You can see the custom group banner, featured location information and event information. Group coordinators are able to upload a featured image to represent their group.
Group Home Page Layout Bottom: Content types are now broken out into their own blocks. This makes it easier to find the information in the group home pages.
Group Home Page Menu: Each group has a menu to organize their content.
Group Home Page Menu Detail: Group Coordinators can add, edit and delete menu items from the group menu. This image shows a new item being added to the group menu.
