Maybe an early victim of rising energy prices, a paper pulp plant in northern Sweden today announced it will be unable to replace its aging mill from 1950 as prices of electricity mean the new plant will not be profitable.
In a statement released this week, the Acadamy announces three new commissions have been set up to investigate oil, health and research policy.
The acadamy expresses concern that oil production will fall short of demand within 15 years and that no solution has been put forth to mitigate the economic and societal consequences.
