Hello. Just wondering if this is still an active group here in the valley. If not, it should be!
Lots of the posts on this site are several years old...
Are folks gathering locally to discuss important topics of how to bring our community together and strengthen and support one another? Especially those interested in taking ACTION, and SOON? If so, please clue me in...if not, I am active already (starting a barter directory and local currency for the Flathead, coming out in April) and interested in getting that ball rolling again.

Judging from the silence I'm guessing the Flathead group is defunct (or hopefully just dormant).
We don't have an outpost here but several local groups seem to have the right intent; they are just missing the huge puzzle piece that is peak oil. Until they have that I am afraid they are mostly stuck on notions that making ethanol or buying electric cars, new appliances and solar panels are the "solution" to our energy and climate woes. I will be introducing the Helena Citizens Council to the subject of peak oil this week. Wish me luck.
Best of luck on your efforts in the Flathead. I'd like to know more about your ideas/plans for a local currency. Can you recommend some reading material on that?
