I need to shift the topic to politics, because the political dynamic in America impacts the entire planet and almost every facet of our lives. For humanity to survive the next decades somewhat intact, it is imperative that progressive forces replace the neanderthal, anti-life forces embodied by the Bush Administration and Right-wing dominated Republican Party. However, as I write, senior Republicans are brain-storming how to reverse their declining fortunes as of late. Believe it or not, one of their brain-flatulations is that another 9/11 attack would reinvigorate the Bush White House. This is according to the Washington newsletter, "Capitol Hill Blue", dated Nov 10, a few days ago. The website is:

To briefly quote from it: "A confidential memo circulating among senior Republican leaders suggests that a new attack by terrorists on U.S. soil could reverse the sagging fortunes of President George W. Bush as well as the GOP and 'restore his image as a leader of the American people.'"

So why would anyone even bring this up unless there was an intent in the back of his or her mind to help bring such a catastrophe to fruition? So how would that be accomplished? By letting a specific, uncovered terrorist plot go on to conclusion, unhampered by the authorities, for one. This is precisely what some people think happened in the first 9/11, that the White House inner circle knew about it and allowed its execution to promote their agenda. I have no definite opinion on that allegation, but the mere fact that this memo broaches the topic is disturbing enough for the present, nevermind the past!

Such a destructive event and the resulting political machinations would only suck us deeper into the huge black hole of negativity that we are collectively trying to pull ourselves out of. That the forces of reaction can and might very well engineer another "Reichstag fire" should mobilize us to take action immediately. After the original Reichstag fire, Hitler was finally able to assume dictatorial powers and enact emergency decrees that suspended German liberties and shut down democratic institutions, all in the name of fighting "Bolshevik terrorism."

To deal with this memo, I suggest, first of all, that we expose it far and wide, around the world, by emailing the above Capitol Hill Blue article to any and everyone you can think of, in particular, independent media groups. Perhaps someone can even get a hold of a copy of the original memo. Then we should demand that the Republican Party repudiate even the mere act of contemplating such a scenario. And then of course, keep working to vote them out of office.

This is how you deal with snakes and scorpions: overturn the rocks they are hiding under and then defang them.
