Hi from Eugene, Or. I am a new member of the Post Carbon, Eugene group. My name is Josh Massie and I am interested in acting on the future, not waiting for it.
So, we all know a collapse is coming. Have you figured out yet what you are going to do? How will you get food for you and your family? Will you be able to grow enough food to survive on, all year round? What to do when corporate grocery stores close down? When gas is at $10+/gal?
I am an entrepreneur who is searching out other like-minded entrepreneurs to help breathe life into a plan I am working on. It is a plan which will bring local farmers in Lane County together with the general population so when the tough times actually do arrive, we will be ready. I believe this will become a simple model for many other communities.
Is anyone interested? This is a project that we can own and operate ourselves. We can be involved on the ground floor of a new and workable concept for the future, where we all have ready access to food and essential supplies.
I am in need of people with business skills such as marketing, business plan writing, and general skills necessary to bring this plan from the paper to reality.
If you or anyone you know may be interested in finally doing something concrete and proactive, rather than meeting and talking and waiting, then contact me at 541-242-3377 or josh@thebathfactory.com.

Good idea
I am working on a similar plan here in Saint John, NB, although, I am in the very early stages, more a thought than a plan. Organizng community around food and food processing can create a sustainable environment.
