I would like to hear from people about how you see the purposes of our group APPLE-Shasta.  Some folks want to focus on helping each other "homestead"--cut our energy use and increase our food production at home.  Other folks want to work as a community--educating others and seeking ways we can increase our self-reliance as a community.  Obviously, I think we can do both.  Some folks may feel called to work with the City Council and Country Supervisors.  Others may want to hold public educational events.  Still others may want to focus on the community gardens.  I think we need efforts in all these areas, according to our callings.  Perhaps we should organize our group accordingly--an education and outreach group, a "homestead support" group, a political group, etc.  Anyway, I'd like others' thoughts on this.
