QUEENSLAND is heading for an oil shock. And it is not a matter of if, but when.
As crude oil prices hit a record high yesterday, an as-yet unreleased Queensland Government report warns of massive social dislocation, rising food prices and infrastructure headaches because of rising oil costs.

On balance, the report comes down on the side of Peak Oil and it is a real problem. "...current trends in energy consumption are neither secure nor sustainable.."

In what's believed to be a world first, 16 of Australia's leading faith communities released a document on global warming. Entitled 'Common Belief', it's a collection of theological and spiritual statements on the climate change debate.
