Bus to Biketoberfest in Fairfax from Eugene

On October 8, 2005, Marin County would like to invite you to be a part of history. For the first time ever, Fairfax's Biketoberfest, a festival of brews and the bicycle, will kick off with a Human Powered Parade. This year, the festival and parade will be highlighting the cultural value of the bicycle, and the benefits of using the bicycle as transportation. http://www.postcarbon.org/event/biketoberfest

If I have enough responses I am offering a chartered bus from
Eugene to the Bay Area for a fee of between $50-85 round trip to this great, fun event.

Our latest monthly "4th Sunday of the month" meeting became a LAST Sunday of the month meeting this month, on Oct 30th. Held once again at(Rob Bolman's) Maitreya Eco-Village, at 882 Almaden St., in Eugene.
Notes:
Hanna and Fraedaâ€™s showing of "The End of Suburbia" in their neighborhood went well. May get a showing to the Far West neighborhood board and the larger neighborhood soon. Others are requested to initiate showings in their neighborhood and will be supported by others in the group. Hanna, Fraeda, Melanie, Doug are all interested in pursuing this.
Bulk food buying has happened at Growers Market for several Permatopians["membership" is open to all; weekly orientations Thursdays at 1:30PM. Shopping is Thurs. from 2:30-7, Fri. from 3:00-6:30, and Tues. from 5-7. See Doug at deeblack@gmail.com for more info). Hanna has done bulk food buying at her work. Still in process.

We are working on making available to the public a DVD recording of the 1/10 Richard Heinberg talk at the Eugene Hilton. The recording will feature edited-in slides of the professor's powerpoint presentation, and multiple camera angles. Please check back for more information as it develops very soon.

7th Annual "That's my Farmer" Community-Supported Agriculture(CSA) event April 4th

The 7th Annual "That's my Farmer" event will be held on Tuesday, April 4 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 13th and Olive Street, in Eugene. Fifteen faith communities in Lane County sponsor this event to highlight the importance of supporting local farmers, offer an opportunity to meet local farmers and learn more about participating in Community Supported Agriculture or CSA's. CSA means buying a weekly box of fresh fruits and vegetables from a local farmer from May through the fall with the money paid in the spring to help the farmer begin the planting season. Meet the farmers between 6:30-7:30.
