Diablo Post-Carbon's monthly meeting will feature a showing of "The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil"
This inspiring film documents Cuba’s emergency transition to local organic agriculture, renewable energy, and large-scale mass transit. The transition occurred following the Soviet collapse in 1990, when their massive subsidies of imported oil and food to Cuba were halted."
This will be a chance for us to see a positive example of people adapting to massive changes in their available energy sources. Some of the lessons learned may be directly applicable to our work here in our community.
