Hello

Hi,
I've just joined this group. Doesn't look like much is happening, tho'. Why not?

Would anyone like to start a discussion?
Would any of you like to tell us about yourselves?
Why have you joined this group?
What actions are you taking towards our topic of interest. How self-sufficient are you? Are any of you in a group, or groups in Maine?
Tree

Hello from Portland

Hello,

I've just moved to Portland from Providence, and am trying to get my bearings and seek out some like minds. I'd look forward to future events in the area.

Regards to Maine and Dublin. Report here from Guelph ON Canada where a veritable armada of bicycles rules the road fighting the Oil Beast. There must be more. Too many cyclists killed here. I knew two of them. Forgotten souls in the fight. Just going to work killed by petrol beasts. Since Gulf War One I have hated the black stuff. That is the first step. Lets get this website started friend Regards Reid

hello Tree

Yes I have just joined as well and am currently setting up Post Carbon Dublin. I hate typing so usually don't contribute much to these discussions. I am living in Ireland and very active in promoting the Peak Oil concept and exploring ways to powerdown and respond to the prospect of living with less fossel fuels. I am involved in the Village a large scale low impact community project which has just bought a farm and got planning permission for 132 eco houses, a farm and woodlands area. See www.thevillage.ie check it out. Also www.sustainable.ie Good luck in Maine. Davie

The Village

Sounds great Davie! I wish more people had the gumption (and capital) to undertake this here in Canada. Best of luck and keep the site posted on developments. Reid
