Scared new user

Hello all
My name is Alec, I live in Cap. Hill Seattle, I do not own a car, and work as the Print Center manager for the Girl Scouts of Western Washington main office in Queen Anne. I ride the bus everywhere and shop at Madison Market Co-Op and the Farmer's market on Broadway. I am very frightened about the coming oil/economic crisis. I am hoping that The Girl Scouts can survive it like they did the Great Depression for I truly LOVE my Job!!! I would like to find more information related to how a Non-Profit Organization like the Girl Scouts can begin to prepare and Brace for the years ahead. I would also Like information about how I may get more involved in your Group and community!
I am also a DJ/Producer of Dub dance music with eastern flavor and currently play every 2nd saturday of each month at Tost in Fremont. I am willing to Play for free at any local Events that you all may be organizing as well.

My e-mail is

Namaste!

Alec, if you have any questions you can email me at websupport at relocalize.net. I'm a big fan of Dub! I'd love to hear some of your stuff some time, I'm afraid I'm down in California and don't make it out in your neck of the woods much. I hope all is well, thanks for stopping in.

Re: Girl Scouts and Relocalization

Hello Alec,
Welcome to relocalize.net. The Relocalization Network is a program of Post Carbon Institute, based out of Sebastopol, California. If you have any questions, please contact us anytime at team@ relocalize.net. Girl Scouts can play an important role in increasing environmental literacy among youth and helping participants develop strong leadership skills and practical skills that can reduce energy use and encourage relocalization.

If you're interested in looking at ways to incorporate the relocalization strategy into your work, a good place to start is by having a browse of the resources section of the website - http://relocalize.net/resources.

Relocalization Network Outreach Toolkit: http://relocalize.net/resources/outreach/toolkit

You might also browse the project guides for some ideas: http://www.relocalize.net/guide
Fundraising Toolkit: http://www.relocalize.net/resources/fundraising

The folks at Green For All have also put together an excellent Media Toolkit with useful info on approaching media: http://www.greenforall.org/resources/media-toolkit/download

Lastly, you can check out additional links on our del.icio.us account here: http://del.icio.us/relocalize
We just recently started adding bookmarks and we'll continue to import links. If you use del.icio.us, you can send us links by tagging them with "for:relocalize".

Good luck!

Shelby
