The spectacular run up in oil prices is bringing a noticeable change in public perception of peak oil. When we first started this group, peak oil was a subject known only to a few. Now the phrase is being heard everywhere in the mainstream media.

We set up this group as a place to learn about and discuss the implications of peak oil. Now that this knowledge is on its way to being mainstream, it's time to consider what we should be doing next. Do we lobby different levels of government to introduce conservation policies? Write letters to the editor? Form an investment club and dabble in oil futures? Head for the hills?

For our 48th meetup, we will hold a discussion on future directions for the group, both this meetup and Post Carbon Toronto. We have some ideas to present to you for feedback and we want to hear your ideas.
